The Sabine Index - William C. Berry

  6 Dec 1946 - William C. Berry, age 88, expired at the home of
his daughter, Mrs. E. C. Leone, Sr. at Zwolle. Funeral services
were conducted 4 p.m. Nov. 26 at Beulah Baptist church at Ajax by
Rev. T. J. Holliday, under direction Massingill funeral home.

  Mr. Berry is survived by : daughters, Mrs. E. C. Leone, Sr.,
Zwolle, Mrs. E. H. Kenzie, Hearne, Texas; sons, P. G. Berry,
Cisco, Texas, L. L. Berry, San Angelo, Texas; 13 grandchildren
and 15 great-grandchildren.

The Sabine Index - Mrs. Henry Funderburk

  27 Dec 1946 - Mrs. Henry Funderburk, age 61 years, of
Kisatchie died Dec. 10 in a Shreveport hospital after an injury
received in a fall Dec. 8. Funeral services were held Dec. 12
from Kisatchie Baptist church. Rev. Myers of Coldwater and Rev.
Monroe Roberts of Provencal conducted the services, assisted by
Rev. J. C. Clements of Many. Services were conducted at the grave
by Hixon funeral home of Leesville.

  Pallbearers were C. B. Funderburk, Clarence Key, Orville Key,
Hollis Booty, Cecil Hays and Oscar Masters.

  She is survived by her husband; two sons, Thermon
Funderburk of Barksdale and J. B. Funderburk of Alexandria; one
daughter, Mrs. Euna Mae Carter of Natchitoches; three
grandchildren. J. T. Carter, Bobby and Travis Funderburk of
Alexandria; two sisters, Mrs. Nola Funderburk and Mrs. Zula Booty
of Kisatchie; five brothers, Eddie Key of Alco, Caleb Key of
Hornbeck, Miles Key of Alexandria, Adam and William Key of Many.

The Sabine Index - James M. Golden

  13 Dec 1946 - Last rites for James M. Golden, age 74 years,
who died at the home of his son at Pleasant Hill, were held at
Lewis Chapel near Belmont with the rev. C. E. Bryant assisting at
2 p.m. Monday. Interment was under direction of Massingill
funeral home.

  Surviving are: sons, William Golden, Campti, James L. Golden,
Pleasant Hill; daughters, Mrs. Bessie Murry, Hanna, Mrs. Hester
Green Marthaville; brother, T. A. Golden, McDade.

The Sabine Index - Mrs. Dora B. King

  6 Dec 1946 - Last rites for Mrs. Dora B. King were conducted
3:30 p.m. Nov. 26, at the graveside at Sardis cemetery by Rev.
Don Stirling , pastor Zwolle Baptist church. The funeral was
directed by Massingill funeral home. Mrs. King passed away at the
home near Zwolle being 66 years of age.

  Survivors are: daughter, Mrs. J. B. Anderson, Zwolle; sisters,
Mrs. E. E. Prudhomme, Chicago, Ill., Mrs. T. J. Dempsey,
Portland, Ore,; brothers, Dave Bickham, New Orleans, and M. S.
Bickham, Jr. of Oklahoma.

The Sabine Index - Richard Potter

  13 Dec 1946 - Funeral rites for Richard Potter, age 92 years,
were conducted 2:30 p.m. Dec 2 at Prospect Methodist church, near
Florien, by Rev. Allie J. Ellender, pastor, assisted by Rev. H.
E. Chance of Hornbeck. Interment was under direction of
Massingill funeral home. Mr. Potter passed away at the home of
his son near Florien.

  Surviving are: sons, Samuel F. Potter, Many, John W. and
Wiliam Potter, both of Florien, eight grandchildren and five
great-grandchildren.
