H. H. McBride, pastor First Baptist church, Winnfield, officiating, assisted by Rev. Charles S. Miers, pastor of the many church. Interment was in the Many cemetery under direction of Shreveport and Massingill funeral home of Many. Mrs. Abrams is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Harvey Skinner of Many and Mrs. Jessie Marcel, Roswell, N. M.; on son, Dr. James Allen, Merryville; two brothers, Congressman A. Leonard Allen, Winnfield, and Ira W. Allen, Leesville, one sister, Mrs. Mattie Broyles, Shreveport. She was a sister of the late Governor O. K. Allen. Pallbearers were: Harvey Broyles, O. K. Allen, Jr., Richard Allen, Bryan Allen, Dr. Joe Broyles, Jr. W. H. Broyles, Lynden Allen, Ted Broyles, Harvell Allen and Asa Benton Allen. Mrs. Abrams passed away at the home of her sister, Mrs. Mattie A. Cobb, who was killed May 28, 1944 on an air force bombing mission in Europe were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Osburn funeral chapel, Shreveport, Elder Glenn G. Smith, Houston, Texas, officiated. Interment was in Forest Park cemetery. Lt. Cobb is survived by his widow of Salt Lake City, Utah, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Harper 17 Dec 1948 - Funeral services for L. E. Harper, age 67 years, pioneer citizen of Converse, who died at his home Thursday afternoon, Dec. 9, were held Friday from Converse Baptist church with the pastor, Rev. Jerry Schmucker, officiating. Mr. Harper was a druggist and for more than 30 years had owned and operated Harper's Pharmacy in Converse. He was prominent both in church and civic affairs. He took an active part in the building of the new Converse Baptist church of which he was a deacon. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Modene Duke Harper of Converse; two daughters, Mrs. Eva Magee of Converse and Mrs. Opal Hash, Sulphur; one brother, Rhett Harper, Converse; three granddaughters, Eva Dean Magee, Converse, Sandra and Nancy Virginia Hash, both of Sulphur.
