Murphy 7 Dec 1951 - Funeral rites for Sam J. Murphy, 59, who passed away at the veterans hospital in Alexandria after several weeks illness Wednesday of last week, were conducted 10 a.m. Friday at Calvary Baptist church by Rev. B. W. Hudson, pastor, and Rev. E. E. Fields of Natchitoches. Interment was in Mt. Carmel cemetery under direction Warren funeral home with Masonic rites at the graveside, Leesville lodge in charge. Pallbearers were Clifton Massingill, C. B. Byrd, Mack Weldon, N. L. Fisher, Georg Boyens and R. F. Shadoin, Jr. Surviving relatives include the widow, Mrs. Sam Murphy, Many; a number of nieces and a nephew. Pilcher 21 Dec 1951 - Funeral rites for Robert M. Pilcher, 81, who passed away in a hospital at Shreveport Thursday of last week after several weeks' illness, were conducted 2 p.m. Saturday at Beulah Baptist church by Revs. Glen Marr and Coda Salter. Interment followed under direction Warren funeral home. Pallbearers were Billy Gay Gandy, Clenard Thomas, Doug Jacks, Robert C. Pilcher, W. E. Pilcher and Leo Pilcher. Surviving relatives include: wife, Mrs. R. M.
