Delbert Brandon 12 Dec 1952 - Pfc. Delbert Brandon was performing his duties with Co. A, 32nd Infantry division, near Kumbra, Korea, on Oct. 17 when an enemy artillery round landed nearby, killing him instantly. His body is now in Kokura, Japan. Pfc. Brandon entered service Oct. 29, 1951, and was stationed at Fort Ord, Calif., until he was sent overseas for foreign service in March of 1952. Pfc. Brandon was married to the Miss Barbara Dean Ferguson June 3, 1951, at Houston, Texas, where Pfc. Brandon was employed until he entered service. He is survived by is widow, Mrs. Barbara D. Brandon; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Brandon, of Belmont; two brothers Wayne and Lawrence, of Belmont, two sisters, Marcy Lea and Eutha, of Houston, Texas; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Webb Brandon, of Zwolle; maternal grandparents Mrs. Mae Armstrong, of New Orleans and a number of aunts and uncles. ************************************************************************** Obituaries: James (Jim) P. Fussell 5 Dec 1952 - James (Jim) P. Fussell of Homer was fatally burned Nov. 6 and died the following day at 12:20 p.m. Mr. Fussell was working on an oil rig when part of his equipment suddenly caught fire, causing him to suffer burns on 90 percent of his body. He was taken to Homer Memorial hospital. He had been employed by magnolia Petroleum company since July 1, 1924. He had lived in Homer for approximately six months. He is survived by his wife of Homer and three daughters, Jimmie Louise Fussell of Homer, Vera Fussel Townsend of Coushatta, and Alruy Fussell Howard of Natchez, Miss. Other survivors include his mother, Mrs. Hettie Fussell, of Many, four brothers, three sisters, four grandchildren and a host of other relatives. Funeral services were held at First Baptist church in Coushatta, Rev. Jack Shaw officiating with Rev. Ben Joiner assisting. Jordan and Mary Blake Jordan, passed away Dec. 5, following a long illness. Miss Jordan attended St. John grade school, Many, and was a graduate of Many high school, St. Vincent's college, Shreveport, and Northwestern State college, Natchitoches. She was employed by the Sabine Parish School Board for 26 years, during which time she was a member of Fisher school faculty for one years and a member of Many high school faculty for 25 years. Miss Jordan was a loyal member of St. John's Catholic church of Many. Her love and devotion for her religion and the immeasurable services she rendered to her church are an inspiration to all who knew her. The faculty, the student body and the alumni of Mani high school and the teaching profession at large have all suffered a great loss in the passing of Miss Jordan Ongoing tribute . . . Miss Jordan is survived by her mother, Mrs. Mary B. Jordan, and two brothers, Murray and Jack Jordan. Funeral services for Miss Jordan were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, in St. John's Catholic church, Many, with Father M. R. Gremillion officiating. Pallbearers were Supt. Roy Alford, A. L.
