Alonzo C. Evans

  Alonzo Christopher Evans, 71, of Converse, died Tuesday night,
Feb. 20, in a Mansfield hospital, after a short illness.

  The funeral was at 2 p.m., Thursday, in Drewett Funeral Home
Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Presley Marcentel, and the Rev.
Gothal Burr officiating. Burial was in Pollard Cemetery near
Mansfield.

  Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Virgie Smith Evans of
Converse; one brother, Jim Evans of Converse; and three sisters,
Bessie Flowers of Mansfield, Ada Kelly of Frierson, and Addie
Salley of Shreveport.
