Rev. Gary Palmer, pastor Magnolia Baptist Church of Saline, officiated. Burial was in Old Saline Cemetery. He died Monday night, July 14, at the V. A. Hospital in Shreveport. Mr. Evans was a native of Saline, had lived in Shreveport 25 years, was a member of Highland Baptist Church in Shreveport, and a Sebee veteran of World War II. Survivors include one daughter, Derwilla E. Allen, Shreveport; two granddaughters, Naomi Allen, and Bernice Allen; both of Shreveport; three brothers, N. O. Evans, Shreveport, S. B. Evans, Converse, and J. O. Evans, Saline; numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were his nephews, Dr. J. Bruce Evans, Baton Rouge, La., Bobbie Gene Lewis, and Ricky Evan, both of Converse, Donald Ray Lewis, Tyler, Texas, Max Evans, and Sonny Evans, both of Natchitoches, and Tyrone Evans, Shreveport.
