  Funeral services for George William Evans, age 70, will be at 10
a.m., on Saturday, April 25, at Beulah Baptist Church.

  The Rev. Ken Leach, and Rev. Troyce Pearson will officiate.
Burial will be in Beulah Cemetery, under the direction of Warren
Meadows Funeral Home.

  Mr. Evans died on Tuesday, April 21, at Willis-Knighton Medical
Center at Shreveport, La.

  He was survived by his wife, Virgie Evans of Many; one son,
George Henry Evans, and his wife Jan of Tomball, Tex.; one
sister, Bonnie Bowlby of Decatur, Ill.; two brothers, James
Evans, and Stanley Evans, both of Decatur, Ill.; four
grandchildren, Christi Evans, and Greg Evans, both of Cypress,
Tex., Derek Smith of Flint, Michigan, and Daimeon Smith of
Houston, Tex.

  Honorary pallbearers were J. V. Lovelady, John Oliver, Ricky
Knopp, Bill Crouch, Timothy King, Jerome Rogers, Rick Melancon,
and Daimeon Smith.

  Visitation will be in the funeral home on Thursday, after 4:30
p.m. Mr. Evans will receive full military graveside services.
