Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 15, at English Funeral Home Chapel in Hawkins, Texas. Burial followed at Hawkins Cemetery. Services were under the direction of English Funeral Home in Hawkins. Mr. Evans worked for the city of Quitman several years ago. He served in the United States Air Force. Survivors include his widow, Cheryl Evans of Hawkins, Texas; his mother, Mrs. Bettye Evans of Many; one son, Robert Charles Evans of Hawkins, Texas; one daughter, Heather Evans of Hawkins, Texas; mother-in-law, Dorothy King of Hawkins, Texas; father-in-law, Ray King of Chandler, Texas; one sister, Melanie Low of Many; one sister-in-law, Cindy Caldwell of Hawkins, Texas; three nieces; one great niece; one nephew; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and grandmother, Mrs. Lela Duggan of Many. Mr. Evans was preceded in death by his father, Hardy "Buddy" Evans and grandparents, Bernice Duggan, and C. L., and Lola Evans. Pallbearers were Wayne Loucks, Preston Klutts, Michael Rowe, Butch Perry, Steven Burns, Jeffery Burns, Robert Titus, and Bobby Burns.
