Mrs. Tara Meshell Garner Evans

  Mrs. Tara Meshell Garner Evans, 30, died Sunday, Aug. 15, 1999,
in Sabine Parish.

  Tara Meshell Garner Evans was born to the union of Johnny C. and
Alyce Faye Hightower Garner, on April 13, 1969. She united with
the New Home Baptist Church of Many at an early age. Tara was a
graduate of the Many High School class of 1987. On Dec. 7, 1991,
Tara Meshell Garner united in holy matrimony to Randy Evans. She
attended the Sabine Parish Vo-Tech, where she received a degree
in computer and business office management.

  Tara was preceded in death by both grandmothers, Lula Garner,
and Effie M. Scott. She leaves to cherish her memories, her
husband, Randy Evans of Zwolle; one son, Warren O. Evans; one
daughter, Charity T. Garner; father, Johnny C. Garner; mother,
Alyce F. Garner; one grandfather, Francis Garner; two brothers,
Kerry L. Garner, and Tavoris Sweet; one play brother, Earl Mays;
two sisters, Carla Garner, and Tina M. Clay and husband Larry;
one God sister, Lana M. Little; one nephew, Darias (Don) Garner;
one niece, Skotchkeirria Smart; four God nieces, Kristen Colette,
Ebony Mallard, and Tamekia Harrington, all of Many; a special
friend, Aaron Brown of Florien; a host of uncles, aunts,
relatives, and friends.

  Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 21, at 1 p.m., at the
New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Many. Pastor Jacob Maxie Sr.,
officiated, with interment following at the New Jerusalem Church
Cemetery, under the direction of Thomas Mortuary of Many.
