Sam Evans

  Sam Evans, 86, of Florien, died Feb. 29, in a Zwolle hospital,
after a lengthy illness.

  Funeral services were conducted March 2, at Clearwater Baptist
Church, with the Rev. Richard Gillespie officiating. Burial was
in Clearwater Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows
Funeral Home of Many.

  Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mattie Evans of Florien; one
son, Roy Evans of Florien; three daughters, Mrs. Lizzie Miers of
Florien, Mrs. Lea Miers of Anacoco, and Mrs. Nettie Loftin of
Florien; three sisters, Mrs. Myrtis Walters of Houston, Tex.,
Mrs. Lena Parish of Robeline, and Mrs. Zadee Vogel of Florien; 23
grandchildren; and 36 great grandchildren.
