Mrs. Mattie Evans

  Mrs. Mattie Evans, 87, of Florien, died at 9:30 p.m., on Feb. 2,
in Many, after an extended illness.

  Survivors include a son, Roy Evans of Florien; three daughters,
Mrs. Lizzie Miers, and Mrs. Nettie Loftin, both of Florien, and
Mrs. Lea Miers of Anacoco; two brothers, Lonnie, and Cleve Busby
of Hemphill, Tex.; a sister, Mrs. Fannie McDaniel of Many; and 22
grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and one great-great
grandchild.

  Funeral services were held at Clearwater Baptist Church, at
10:00 a.m., on Thursday, Feb. 5. Officiating was the Rev. Richard
Gillespie, and the Rev. C. C. Pierce. Burial was under the
direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many, in the
Clearwater Cemetery.
