All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Herman Ebarb (Photo) Funeral services for Herman Ebarb, 66, of Elysian Fields, were held at 2 p.m., Friday, at Sullivan Funeral Home, Travis Street Chapel, with the Rev. Thad Carter officiating. Burial followed in the Woodley Cemetery, Elysian Fields. Mr. Ebarb died at 8 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 14, 1990, at his home, following an extended illness. He was born Aug. 29, 1923, in Ebarb, La., a son of Jim, and Mary Martinez Ebarb. He attended Ebarb public schools, and married Frankie Needhall Jay, on Sept. 25, 1946, in Zwolle. He was transportation supervisor at Elysian Fields, I.S.D., until August 1998, and had served in the U.S. Army, and the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Elysian Fields, and served as a Little League coach for over 20 years. He was preceded in death by his wife on Dec. 3, 1987; two brothers, Cleve Ebarb in 1990, and James Ebarb in 1944, and two sisters, Emma Lee in 1989, and Julie Ebarb Sepulvado. Survivors include two sons, James Herman Ebarb of Elysian Fields, and William Jay Ebarb of Harleton; five grandchildren, James Herman Ebarb Jr., Cannon Jay Ebarb, and Frank Brice Ebarb, all of Elysian Fields, and Cannon Chad Ebarb, and Christopher Chance Ebarb, both of Harleton; two brothers, Hosea Ebarb of Many, La., and Henry Ebarb of Ebarb; and two sisters, Bessie Mora of Zwolle, and Sallie Lambert of Amite. Pallbearers were Gene Oden, Albert Tiller, Bob Blackman, Tom Ben Oden, Terry Ebarb, and Wayne Ebarb. Alternates were Mouzon Tiller, James W. Tiller, and James (Mack) McCarty.
