Ebarb, 80, died Monday, April 23, 2001, at his residence. He was born Feb. 17, 1921, in Zwolle. Mr. Ebarb was a retired businessman for almost 50 years in Zwolle. He married Iva Leone, and they spent 45 wonderful years together. He was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, and served was an usher for many years. He was a veteran of World War II. He served under General Patton's Forces in the invasion and liberation of Europe. Mr. Ebarb owned and operated David's Package for 32 years. He retired and closed his business in September of 1999. He often referred to his business as "The Dry Hole". Mr. Ebarb was a man with a great heart, and he will be missed by his family, and many friends in the Sabine Parish area. He was thankful to the Lord for giving 80 years of healthful life, and looked forward to being united with his wife, the love of his life. Survivors include one son, David E. Ebarb and wife Wanda of Shreveport; two daughters, Linda Wright of Many, and Paula Hall of Mesquite, Texas; stepmother Marie Ebarb of Zwolle; 13 sisters, Theresa Malmay, Doris Leone, Eunice Ebarb, all of Zwolle, Joyce Santos of Pineville, Mildred Heard of Shreveport, Laverne Jones of Harrah, Okla., Delores Springer of Midwest City, Okla., Brenda Hall, and Sheila Ybarbo, both of Shreveport, Kimberly Procell of Zwolle, Cindy King of Slidell, Marsha Anderson of Flint, Mich., and Marilyn Shoemaker of Zwolle; six brothers, Frank Ebarb of Many, Jim Ebarb, Kenneth Ebarb, Greg Ebarb, Pat Ebarb, and James Anthony Ebarb, all of Zwolle; grandchildren, Lester Rivers, Christy and husband, Chris Kurta, Dustin Wright, Chance Hall, and Shaina Wright; great granddaughter, Airianna Rurtz; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
