Vernon Ebarb, a witness to the fatal shotgun shooting, has also been charged with murder. He was released from jail Monday, under $1000 bond. All live in the Ebarb community. Warrants for their arrest were sworn out by Raymond Ebarb, the dead man's brother. The shooting took place Thursday, Nov. 18, at about 3 p.m., about one and one half miles from the Ebarb School on the Noble Road. Ebarb died at about 3:45 p.m., at the Sabine Clinic in Zwolle. Sheriff T. M. (Pappy) Phillips told the INDEX that Sepulvado and Steve Ebarb had engaged in an argument in front of Steve's house. Later on, they met up the road, at the site of the fatal shooting. Sepulvado claimed that Steve had a pistol. He shot Steve with a shotgun. A pistol was found at the murder scene by investigating officials. After the shooting, Sepulvado came to Zwolle, and reported the incident to Marshall Quinton Brandon. Brandon and Deputies Harold Sandel, and Truitt Walden of the Sheriff's Department investigated. A Coroner's Jury made no recommendation concerning charges to be filed. The attorney for Sepulvado has made an application for a preliminary hearing in the matter, in an attempt to have Sepulvado released on bond.
