Ezell, 94, formerly of Shreveport, died Tuesday, March 9, at Integrated Health Services #1. Graveside services, with Masonic Rites, were held at 1 p.m., Friday, March 12, at Old Blanchard Cemetery in Blanchard. Mr. Ezell was born Oct. 20, 1904, in Ludington (DeRidder). He served 20 years with the Shreveport Police Department (1930 - 1050), and retired as Lieutenant of Detectives. He served with the Caddo Parish Sheriffs Office, as Captain over the Warrants Section, and Court Bailiff from 1950 to 1973. Mr. Ezell was also a lifetime member of Caddo Masonic Lodge #179 F&AM, Scottish Rite, El Karubah Shrine, and Louisiana Peace Officers' Association. Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Ray Ezell and Tommy Joe Ezell and wife Ruth, all of Many; two grandchildren, Kari Rivers and husband Barry of Hemphill, Texas, and Mark Ezell and wife Tessa of Many; and three great grandchildren. Mr. Ezell was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Ezell; one brother, Vern Ezell; and two sisters, Hazel Garrison, and Iola Walker. Honorary pallbearers were the Shreveport Police Department, and the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Shrine Hospital for Crippled Children, 3100 Samford Avenue in Shreveport. Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Many, La.
