All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** The Sabine Index - William Edward Eason 19 Jul 1957 - Last rites for William Edward Eason, age 66, were held Friday at 10 o'clock at the chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Bishop Howard F. Turner of Shreveport officiated, with Elder Sidney E. Nielsen of Shreveport assisting. Elder A. M. Wagley, Branch president of the local Branch gave the introduction of speakers. Pallbearers were Wallace DeLatin, Hoy Leach, Jr., Merline Miller, T. M. Phillips, J. J. Blake, Jr., J. A. Lucius, J. M. Abington and P. F. DeKeyser. Interment was in the Many cemetery under the direction of the Warren Funeral Home. Surviving are widow; Mrs. Ruby Eason; daughters, Mrs. William Hardy of New Orleans; three brothers, Frank and Lawrence, both of Many and John Eason of San Antonio, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Eddie Byrd, Freeport, Texas; and Mrs. Lester Davis, Monroe. Mr. Eason better known as "Bill" passed away at the Veterans hospital at New Orleans Thursday, July 11 after a long illness. He was a native of Sabine parish and resided here the most part of his life, having been the local manager of the Many Theatre for the past 15 years. He was a descendant of one of Sabine parish pioneer families.
