Mrs. Eason, a former resident of Many, died in Bountiful, Utah, Saturday, Nov. 30. She had made her home for the past several years, with her daughter and son-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. William M. Hardy of Bountiful, Utah. Born in Vowells Mill, La., on Feb. 5, 1900, to Alexander Colman, and Cora Belle Miller Wagley, she was the fourth child of a family of eleven children, namely: Lina May (Mrs. Eddie P. Cobb), Nina Bell (Mrs. Narra C. Lockwood), Pearl Cloe (Mrs. Coda R. Robinson), Ruby Dale (Mrs. William E. Eason), Alice Lizzie (Mrs. J. N. Belisle), Flossie Kate (Mrs. William L. Nicholls), Grover Colman Wagley, Audrey (Mrs. Dan Slay), Fred Leon Wagley, Arthur Mack Wagley, and Alton Cade Wagley. She was preceded in death by sisters, Lina Cobb, Nina Lockwood, Pearl Robinson, Alice Belisle, and brother, Arthur Mack (Shorty) Wagley, also her husband, W. E. (Bill) Eason. Mrs. Eason will be remembered as manager of the Many Theater for a number of years. She was an active member of the LDS Church, having served in many positions of responsibility. She was an avid genealogist, and spent innumerable hours in research on her family lines. She was a regular researcher in the Genealogical Library in Salt Lake City for many years. When she was 78 years of age, she studied German, and spent two years in transcribing German genealogical records into English. She was also involved in copying Sabine Parish cemetery records for publication by the DAR. Mrs. Eason was skilled in needlework, as an expert seamstress and quilter. She sewed for the Red Cross during World War II, and was involved in making quilts and clothing for the Church Welfare program. She headed the finance committee in many money-making projects for her church. Whatever the need, she could be depended upon to do her part and more. She is fondly remembered as "Ruby", and "Aunt Ruby", by her friends here and elsewhere. She is survived by one daughter, Patsy Hardy; two granddaughters, Allison Covington, and Cindy Drees; and one great granddaughter, Paige Covington.
