All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Francis Jerome Ezernack Funeral services for Francis Jerome Ezernack, 66, of Lake Charles, La., were held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 29, at Immaculate Conception Cathedral. The Rev. Joseph Stemmann officiated. Burial was held in Highland Memorial Gardens Cemetery, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Francis Ezernack died at 3:45 p.m., September 26, in New Orleans Hospital. Francis was a native in Shreveport, La., lived in Lake Charles many years, attended Northwestern, and graduated from University of Southwestern Louisiana, with a degree in Agronomy. He had worked as Soil Conservation in Beauregard, Calcasieu, and Cameron Parish for over 35 years. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, receiving the Purple Heart, and 2 Bronze Stars. He is active in many church and civic organizations, including Knights of Columbus Council 1207, VFW Post 2130, Agro-Flex Soil Conservation Society, La. Forestry Association, Travelers Protective Association, AARP, and Association of Retired SCS Employees. Survivors include wife Mabel S. Ezernack, Lake Charles, La.; four sons, Wayne Ezernack, Lake Charles, La., Jerome Ezernack, Lake Charles, La., Arthur Ezernack, DeRidder, La., and John Ezernack, Lake Charles, La.; two daughters, Gerry E. Guillory, Lake Charles, La., and Brenda E. McCain, Lake Charles, La.; six brothers, Jullus Ezernack, Arlington, Tex., Nathan Ezernack, Natchitoches, La., Mark Ezernack, Zwolle, La., Marion Ezernack, Lucedale, Miss. Thomas Ezernack, Shreveport, La., and Dexter Ezernack, San Diego, Calif.; one sister, Myrtle Martinez, Leesville, La.; and seven grandchildren.
