Mack Black officiating. Later interment will be at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Swaledale, Iowa. Mr. Eddy died in Shreveport, January 5, after a lengthy illness. He was born March 27, 1919, in Swaledale, Iowa, to parents, Mary E. Brink and Glenn A. Eddy. After completing high school in Swaledale, he attended college in Chillicothe, Missouri, where he met his wife of 54 years, LeMerle Huey, a native of Mansfield. After serving with the U.S. Army during WWII, Glenn and LeMerle made their home in Swaledale, and he joined the family lumber/hardware/LP gas business. Glenn retired in 1989, after which he and his wife enjoyed traveling, and had relocated to Bokeelia, Florida. Glenn and LeMerle had recently moved to Pelican, where their daughter resides. Glenn was an active member of the First Baptist Church all his life. He also served on the Cerro Gordo County (Iowa) Board of Supervisors, was a former president of, and a 13 year board member of Iowa Retail Hardware Association, served on the board of directors for Mercy Hospital, Mason City, Iowa, was active in North Iowa Shrine Club, and an active member of Masonic Temple. Glenn retired as a True Value Hardware dealer. Among his many interests was his love of baseball, and since boyhood, had been a fan of the Chicago Cubs. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Leo Eddy; and sisters Ruth Martin, and Marjone Miller. Survivors include his wife, LeMerle of Pelican; son Michael of Clear Lake, Iowa; daughter, Mardee Malwitz of Pelican; daughter, Kathleen Bohl of St. Paul, Minn. Glenn is also survived by his brother, Elmer Eddy of Swaledale, Iowa; and sister, Norma King of Forest City, Iowa. Glenn's family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the many relatives and friends, for their love and support, during the illness and death of their husband and father. A special note of appreciation is made to Dr. Ben Quinney, and the staff of Schumpert Medical Center, for the excellent care and support given to Glenn. The family requests that any memorials be made to Schumpert Medical Center Foundation, One Saint Mary Place, Shreveport, La.
