All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Fannie Lafitte Etheredge Funeral services for Mrs. Fannie Lafitte Etheredge, 71, were held Sunday, May 27, at 2 p.m., at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel in Shreveport. Officiating at the services were the Rev. Olan McDaniel, pastor of Faith Baptist Church, assisted by Rev. J. M. Cason, former pastor of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church. Burial was in the Munnerlyn Chapel Cemetery in Mira, La. Mrs. Etheredge died Friday, May 25, at Schumpert Medical Center, following a lengthy illness. She was born in Bossier Parish, and had been a lifetime resident of Shreveport. She was a housewife, and a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vol and Bessie Lafitte. Survivors include her husband, George Etheredge of Shreveport; five sons, Jerry Etheredge of Shreveport, Jimmy Etheredge of Keithville, Roy Etheredge of Natchitoches, Coleman Etheredge of Bossier City, and Cecil Miller of Shreveport; five daughters, Bess Cates of Mexia, Tex., Mary Gandy of Many, Patsy Tubbs of Bossier City, Sophia Rawls of Shreveport, and Joyce Risinger of Orange, Tex.; three sisters; five brothers; 36 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Pallbearers were Earl Smith, Jay Smith, Kelly Smith, Billy Young, James Lafitte Jr., and Ricy Burk Sr. Honorary pallbearer was Floyd Lafitte.
