"Lum" Edwards, 70, of Independence, Missouri, died June 24, 1994, at the Medical Center of Independence. Memorial services were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 27, at the St. Matthews United Methodist Church in Independence. The family suggests contributions be made to the American Heart Association. Mr. Edwards was born in Noble, and had lived in the Independence area for 41 years. He was a freight agent for the Kansas City Southern Railroad for 45 years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Clubs, and a member of the Independence FM Amateur Radio Club. Survivors include his wife, Verna Edwards of Independence; a daughter, Jennifer Allee of Independence; and a sister, Marilyn Cates of Ada, Oklahoma. Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by his parents, Adina Latham Edwards, and L. B. Edwards Sr.; and by his brother, L. B. Edwards Jr.
