Officiating the service was Dr. William Crosby, pastor of First Baptist Church of Mansfield, and assisting was Rev. Joe Waggener, Minister of Education at First Baptist Church of Mansfield. Burial was in the Noble Cemetery. Mrs. Edwards died Wednesday, October 12, 1994, in Converse, and was a resident of Mansfield for the past 34 years. She was a homemaker, and a loving mother. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Mansfield, until it became necessary for her to become a resident of the nursing home. She still attended church sponsored activities at the nursing home until the time of her death. Preceding her in death were her parents, Mitch and Amy Paul Tatum; her husband, Charles Louis Edwards; a daughter, Edith Carol Cook; a granddaughter, Carol Marie Cook; brothers, J. M. Tatum, and Jack Tatum. Survivors are two sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Mildred Edwards of Mansfield; Mac and Lucille Edwards of Mansfield; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rita and Ed Herring of Duncan, Okla., Mary Alice and Ted Brasher of Mansfield; sisters, Rita Dees of Lake Charles, Elaine Smallwood of Sulphur; brother, Paul K. Tatum of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Donna Torr, Jerry Edwards, Linda Hightower, Lonnie Murphy, Tommy Cook, Charles Cook, Lisa Simpson, Randy Cook, Ronnie Herring, David Herring, Kate Herring, and Tanya Brasher; 17 great grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
