G. W. Edwards, Sr.

  Funeral services were held for George Wooten Edwards Sr., April
25, at the Noble Methodist Church. Mr. Edwards died in Marshall,
Texas, and was buried in the Noble Cemetery, with Masonic
Graveside rites.

  Pallbearers were his nephews, E. L. Edwards Jr., Ivy DeVille,
Oral Sistrunk, Russell Clark, Kenneth Graves, and Bobby Rains.

  Mr. Edwards was born in Noble in 1893, the son of James Franklin
Edwards, and Texanna Elizabeth Henderson Edwards. He was an
attorney and accountant.

  Surviving are his wife, Ercelle Tatum Edwards; one son, George
W. Edwards Jr. of Marshall; one sister, Mrs. H. H. Whitley of
Waskom; two brothers, J. C. Edwards, Las Vegas, Z. F. Edwards,
Converse; four grandchildren, Dianne, and Cindy Edwards,
Marshall, Penny, and Randy Edwards of Martindale, Texas; and a
number of nieces and nephews.
