Edwards were held in Marshall, Tex., at Rains and Tally Funeral Home, Sunday morning, Feb. 20, with the Rev. Marion Harris, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. The body was sent to San Marcos, Tex., where services were held Monday afternoon at the Pennington Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Raymond Wilson, minister of the First Methodist Church, officiated. Burial was in the Humphrey Cemetery near Martindale, Tex. Frank was born in Smackover, Ark., July 12, 1923, and moved to San Marcos, Tex., with his parents, as a small child. He graduated from San Marcus High School, where he was an outstanding athlete. He was a member of the championship basketball team in 1940, then entered Baylor University, where he started on the basketball team for two years, before entering the service in 1944. He served as a 1st Lt. pilot in the Air Force, and flew more than 50 combat missions with the 13th Air Force in the Far East, for which he was awarded the air medal. He moved to Marshall in 1958, and was engaged in stock farming in Harrison County until his death. He was a member of the Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife and two children; one daughter, Penny Edwards; and one son, Randy Edwards; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. W. Edwards Sr.; and one brother, Geo. W. Edwards Jr. of Marshall, Tex. Mrs. Edwards will make her home in Martindale, Tex. The children will attend San Marcos public schools.
