He was a member of Cenchrea Church of the Nazarene, and a carpenter. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Jan. 16, at Cenchrea Church of the Nazarene, with interment following at Toro Cemetery. The Rev. Douglas Chance, and the Rev. Grady Roundtree officiated. Survivors include his widow, Ruth Ellzey of Florien; two sons, Allen Ellzey and wife Maria of Raleigh, N. C., and Greg Ellzey and wife Donna of Florien; daughter, Kathy Chance and husband Wayne of Hornbeck; three sisters, Elaine Masters of Cowan, Tenn., Maxine Chance of Sarepta, and Beatrice Chance of Many; 11 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Mr. Ellzey was preceded in death by his son, Captain William Dale Ellzey; grandson, Kody Heath Chance, and parents, Ambrose and Lula Mae Ellzey. Pallbearers were Ronnie Chance, Homer Lynn Brown, Travis Alford, Jimmy Bardwell, Doug Thaxton, and Teddie Dowden, Honorary pallbearers were Tom Jones, Gene Alford, and Donald Dowden.
