  Services for Mr. J. W. Elliott, 58, of Keithville, were held at
11:30 a.m., Monday, June 17, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Southside
Chapel. Officiating was Rev. Roy Chapman, pastor of Liberty
Baptist Church, and Rev. Robert Rice, pastor of Southpark Church
of God. Burial was at Forest Park West Cemetery.

  Mr. Elliott was a native of Converse, La., a resident of
Keithville for the past 2 1/2 hears, and a former resident of
Shreveport. He was a maintenance man for G. N. B. Battery. Mr.
Elliott died Saturday, June 15, 1985, at Doctor's Hospital, after
a sudden illness.

  He is survived by his wife, Hazel Elliott of Keithville; mother,
Tharsey Elliott of Shreveport; two sons, Ken Elliott, and Rick
Elliott, both of Shreveport; three daughters, Dianne Brown,
Sandra Holloway, and Tina Scoggins, all of Shreveport; two
stepchildren, Darlene Robinson of Baton Rouge, and Clark Robinson
of Shreveport; two sisters, Mineola Bissell of Shreveport, and
Pauline Bossier of Bridge City, Texas; nine grandchildren; four
step grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

  Pallbearers were Ray Grimsinger, Sam Lee, Mervin Stower, Jackie
Bossier, Gregg Bissell, Jerry Bissell, Luther Bissell, and
Windell Scales.
