William E. Elliot

  William E. Elliot ,69, died Tuesday, December 15, 1992, at his
home in New Bern, North Carolina. Mr. Elliot was a former
resident of Converse, having graduated from Converse High School
with the class of 1942.

  He was preceded in death by his father, Grover Elliot; and by
his mother, Althea Cheeves Elliot; also by his stepmother, Delma
McDonald Elliot; and a sister, Grace Johnson.

  He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary Alice Elliot of the
home; a son, Thomas of Jacksonville, N. C.; four sisters, Martha
Elliot of Natchitoches, Mary Miller of Converse, Myrtle Arme
Dethloff of College Station, Tex., and Birdie R. Swearinger of
Beaumont 24?; two grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews,
other relatives, and friends.

  Mr. Elliot was owner/manager of a General Store in Croaton, N.
C.
