He was a former resident of Leesville for 33 years. He was a retired barber, and a Methodist. Services for Mr. Emmons were held at 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 26, at Rose-Neath's Mansfield Chapel. Officiating was Rev. McKee Williams. He was assisted by Rev. Charles Duncan. Burial was in the Zion Rest Cemetery in Mansfield. He was 98 years of age. He was preceded in death by his wife of 75 years, Mary Lou Emmons; and one son, Fred Emmons. He is survived by one son, Alton M. Emmons of Leesville; three daughters, Margaret Duff of Oak Ridge, Tenn., Sarah Lewing of Mansfield, and Ruth Bozeman of Pleasant Hill; two sisters, Pauline Bufkin of Mansfield, and Omega Thomas of Westlake; nine grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
