Virgil Dewitt "Buddy" Early

  Funeral services for Virgil Dewitt "Buddy" Early, 79, of
Marthaville, was held at 2 p.m., on March 23, 1996, at the Union
Baptist Church in Belmont.

  Rev. J. P. King, retired, and Rev. Johnny Garrett, pastor of
Union Baptist Church, officiated. Burial was in Spring Ridge
Cemetery in Pleasant Hill, under the direction of Rose-Neath
Funeral Home, Mansfield Chapel.

  Mr. Early died March 21, 1996, at the Sabine Medical Center. He
was a retired chicken producer.

  He was preceded in death by his sisters, Naomi Cobb, and Hollis
Collins; and a brother, Russell D. Early.

  Survivors are his wife, Sylvia Early of Marthaville; two sons,
Kenneth Early of Many, and Latham Early of Woodville, Tex.; two
daughters, Remona Rambin of Mansfield, and Myra Walker of
Coushatta; one sister, Aleane Adair of Zwolle; one brother, Glenn
Early of Belmont; 13 grandchildren; six step grandchildren; 26
great grandchildren; six step great grandchildren; and one
great-great grandchild.

  Pallbearers were Kenny Early, Randy Early, Donald Rambin,
Michael Haire, Danny Haire, Michael Kelly, Rodney Dowden, Tony
Phillips, and Terry Simmons.
