Fyke, 78 of Many, passed away Wednesday, April 28, at Fraser Hospital, after an extended illness. Funeral services were held at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Friday, April 30, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. C. C. Pearce, and the Rev. Willis Greer officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Surviving relatives were his wife, Rilda Fyke of Many; six daughters, Mrs. T. J. Brumley of Houston, Mrs. R. B. Greer of Many, Mrs. Hugh Stevenson, Mrs. John Carley, and Mrs. Senky Burk, all of Houston, and Mrs. Jerry Sparks of Matairie, La.; 16 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. Masonic Rites were held at the graveside. Pallbearers were Tommy Brumley, Carman Brumley, Kenneth Brumley, Nathan Brumley, Ronald Brumley, Douglas Holt, and Joseph Gaddis, all of Houston, and Allen Burk of DeQuincy. Honorary Pallbearers were Ray Lites, W. B. Brumley, Leo Burk, George Cook, Fletcher Cobb, and T. M. Phillips.
