Foster, 42, of Natchitoches, died here Monday, July 18, as a result of a logging accident. He was a 32 degree Mason, and a member of El Kalbouth Shrine of Shreveport. Mr. Foster was attempting to use a new log loader when the fatal accident happened. The accident occurred about 1:30 p.m., near the old Pisgah School in the Toledo Bend Dam area. With him when the accident happened, were Bill Powell, Shove Holmes, and a Negro, Jeff Wysinger. Mr. Foster had attempted to operate the new loader for about 35 minutes, without much success. Wysinger then attempted to use it for about 30 minutes, after which Mr. Foster tried again. He lifter the loader arm almost straight up, according to Deputy Alfice Brumley, and one of the logs fell, hitting him in the head. It took about an hour to get the log off him, and get him off the loader. He lived about 10 or 15 minutes upon arrival at Many Clinic. Mr. Foster, a native of Many, had moved to Natchitoches, about a year ago. He had been in the timber business for many years. Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 20, in Many First Baptist Church, with the Rev. William P. Fraser officiating. Burial, in Many Cemetery, was under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Mary Alice Foster of Natchitoches; a son, Stanley Foster of Natchitoches; his father, George W. Foster Sr. of Hattiesburg, Miss.; his mother, Mrs. Pearl Carver of Ruston; and a sister, Mrs. Lenny Olson of Baton Rouge. Pallbearers were Shove Holmes, Noel McBride, James E.
