Foster 65, was found dead Sunday, Feb. 3, near Highway 6, about 6 miles west of Many. The body was discovered by three teenagers, George Maxey, Floyd Tarpley, and Carl Pilcher Jr., who flagged a passing motorist, and notified the sheriff's department. Relatives believe he was en route to Many as he had spoken of going there to file for a World War I bonus. Investigating deputies were R. T. Walden, and W. W. Firesheets, who said Mr. Foster apparently died of natural causes, as there was no evidence of foul play. Deputy Coroner, Dr. Hubert Prevost, said cause of death was not determined. He stated that Mr. Foster had been dead approximately 72 hours. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, Feb. 4, at Myrtle Springs Cemetery, Geneva, Tex. Surviving are one son, Leon Foster of Center, Tex.; one daughter, Mrs. Marie Clifton of San Augustine, Tex.; two brothers, Malley Foster of Many, and Lonnie Foster of Dallas, Tex.; one step sister, Mrs. Viola Moland of Eagle Pass, Tex.; three step brothers, Ivie, and Louis Taylor of Houston, Tex., and Andrew Taylor of Baytown, Tex.; and four grandchildren.
