John Folks

  John P. Folks, 87, of Converse, died Tuesday, April 7.

  Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 9, in
First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Richard May, and the Rev.
Jerry Schmucker officiating. Burial was in Converse Cemetery,
with Drewett Funeral Home in charge.

  Survivors include his widow; two sons, Leslie Folks of
Shreveport, and W. M. Folks of Livermore, Calif.; one daughter,
Mrs. Lucille Spillyards of Converse; one brother, Oscar Folks of
Mansfield; two sisters, Mrs. W. E. Emmons of Pleasant Hill, and
Mrs. Leona Howard of Lake Charles; nine grandchildren, and 15
great grandchildren.
