(Jimmy) Fletcher Funeral services for James J. Fletcher, 78, were held at 1 p.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 14, at Rose-Neath's Mansfield Chapel. Officiating at the service was the Rev. William Crosby, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Mansfield, where Mr. Fletcher was a member. Burial followed in the Highland Cemetery, under the direction of Rose-Neath's Funeral Home. Mr. Fletcher died on Sunday, Oct. 11, at the VA Nursing Center in Alexandria, following a lengthy illness. Born in Robeline, he was a former resident of Shreveport, and had resided in Mansfield for 39 years. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Navy. Mr. Fletcher was also a member of the American Legion, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Professionally, he was a meat cutter and market supervisor in various groceries in Shreveport, Logansport, and Mansfield. He was a meat cutter at Wight's Piggly Wiggly in Many, during the late 1970's through the mid 80's. His career spanned 63 years. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Juanita Fletcher of Mansfield; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Wanda Fletcher of Mansfield, Marvin and Rosa Fletcher of Robeline, and Ron and Linda Fletcher of Natchitoches; one daughter and son-in-law, Betty Lou and Gerald Bennett of Memphis, Tenn.; and sister, Willa Mae McMahan of Sevierville, Tenn.; 14 grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
