Fleming of Many died in Schumpert Medical Center in Shreveport on Sunday, March 27, at 10:25 a.m., following an extended illness. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Hazel Fleming of Many; a son, Lt. Col. J. Lynn Fleming of Detroit, Mich.; a granddaughter, Laurel Denise Fleming of Detroit, Mich.; two sisters, Mrs. W. W. Stephenson of Gary, Tex., and Mrs. Joe Morgan of Garland, Tex. Mr. Fleming, who moved to Many 25 years ago, had been employed by Nichols Dept. Stores as Store Supervisor. He oversaw all the Nichols stores in the state for some 40 years. He was a member of he First Baptist Church. Funeral services were held at the Many First Baptist Church on Monday, March 28, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Rod Smith, and the Rev. Efton Martin officiated. Burial was in the Clayton Cemetery in Carthage, Tex., under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Rusty Irwin, Aubrey Carnline, Melvin Sparks, Harry Nichols, Nolan Rhodes, and Joe Rogers.
