Flores Joseph Brune Flores, 78, died at his home near Belmont, Wednesday, May 12, at 9:15 a.m., after an extended illness. His body was taken to the residence at 5 p.m., May 12, to lie in state until service time Thursday. Funeral services were held at the Springridge Baptist Church Thursday, May 13, at 3 p.m., with the Rev. Billy Burkett, and Sister Ruby Dickerson officiating. Burial was in the Springridge Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Mr. Flores is survived by his wife, Mrs. Thelma Flores of Belmont; two daughters, Mrs. Annie Jane Burkett of Converse, and Mrs. Vera Dyess of Marthaville; one son, Lt. Marlin A. Flores of Shreveport; two sisters, Mrs. Bettie Cranford, and Mrs. Marie Tabor, both of Converse, and eight grandchildren. Masonic rites were held at the graveside.
