All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** The Sabine Index - Mrs. Lula Fontenot 28 Mar 1952 - Mrs. Lula Fontenot, 52, of Rt. 2, Port Arhtur, Texas, a resident of this area for 32 years, died at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, March 15, at St. Mary's hospital, Port Arthur, Texas, after an illness of two years. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. March 17 in the Grammier-Oberle chapel. Rev. J. P. Fortenberry, pastor of Calvary Baptist church, read the rites. Burial was in the Green Lawn Memorial Park, Port Arthur, Texas. Mrs. Fontenot was a native of Many and a member of the Baptist church. She is survived by her husband, Walton Fontenot, Port Acres, Texas; six sons, Jim Fontenot of Port Arthur, Texas, bobby, Kermit and Donald Joe Fontenot, all of Port Acres, Texas, Robert Clenard Thomas of Many, and Clifford Paul Thomas of Covington; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Margarete Bell of Beaumont, Texas, Mrs. Gladys Walsh of Houston, Texas, Mrs. Louise Fontenot and Mrs. Manon Sparks, both of Port Acres, Texas; four brothers Hoyt, Curtis, Rollie Pilcher of Shreveport, and Billy Pilcher of Merryville, Tenn.; three sisters, Mrs. Mabel Gandy of Many, Mrs. Vera Hippler of Deweyville, Texas, and Mrs. Vernon Anderson of Shreveport.
