Martha Free

  Martha Lea Gates Free, 62, of Shreveport, died Wednesday, in a
Shreveport hospital.

  The Marthaville native had lived in Shreveport 20 years.

  Funeral services were at 10 a.m., Friday, in the Jennings Chapel
Congregational Methodist Church near Marthaville. Burial was in
the Jennings Chapel Cemetery, under the direction of Drewitt
Funeral Home.

  Survivors include three sons, T. J. Free of Shreveport, Edward
L. Free, and Mike R. Free, both of Frierson; four daughters, Mrs.
Virgie Lee, and Mrs. Reata Utz, both of Frierson, Mrs. Claudia
Bacque of Keithville, and Mrs. Hazel Franklin of Houston, Tex.;
two sisters, Mrs. J. C. Brown of Mitchell, and Mrs. Marvin Free
of Singer; three brothers, George Gates of Mitchell, Bill Gates
of Pleasant Hill, and Clifton T. Gates of Mansfield; and 12
grandchildren.
