All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Joseph Andrew Gibson, Jr. Services for Mr. Joseph Andrew Gibson, Jr., 59, of Natchitoches, were held at 2 p.m., Friday, April 5, at the Old Bethel Baptist Church near Natchitoches. The Rev. Richard Gillespie officiated. Burial, with Masonic and military graveside rites, was at Old Bethel Cemetery. Plans were under the direction of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches. Mr. Gibson died Wednesday, April 3, 1985, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Shreveport, La. He was a retired school bus driver for the Natchitoches Parish School Board, and was a veteran of World War II. Mr. Gibson was a poultry farmer. He was a member of the Robeline Masonic Lodge No. 344. He was a native of Demmings, N. M. He was preceded in death by a son, William Eugene Gibson. He is survived by his wife, Naomi Nelson Gibson of Natchitoches; three sons, Edward Gibson of Robeline, David Gibson of Natchitoches, and Joey Allen of Robeline; two daughters, Betty Broadway, and Dorothy Ammons of Natchitoches; his mother, Annie Ringer Gibson of Natchitoches; three sisters, Annie Easley of Luling, La., Ruth Cross of Metairie, La., and Martha Beckwith of Minneapolis, Minn.; three brothers, Robert H. Gibson, and Chester Gibson of Natchitoches; and Walter Aubrey Gibson of Atlanta, Ga.; seven grandchildren.
