  Roy Gafford - December 13, 1973

  Roy Gafford, 83, of Zwolle, died in Shreveport on Thursday, Dec.
6, at 5:35 a.m. as a result of an automobile accident.

  Gafford is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ruth Gafford of Zwolle;
three sons, D. C. Gafford, Port Arthur, Tex.; Vernon Gafford and
Marshall Gafford, both of Zwolle; three daughters, Mrs. Beatrice
Lewis of Baltimore, Maryland; Mrs. Juanita Armstrong, Portland,
Ore.; and Mrs. Maggie Blackwell of many; two brothers, Clyde
Gafford and T. P. Gafford of Houston; one sister, Gertrude
Gafford, of Waco, Tex.; four grandchildren and one great
grandchild.

  Funeral services were held on Saturday, Dec. 8, at 9:30 a.m. at
the Memorial Baptist Church of Zwolle. The Rev. Kenneth Leach and
the Rev. W. E. Spencer officiated. Burial was in the Center Hill
Cemetery of Oakhurst, Tex., under the direction of Warren Meadows
Funeral Home.
