James R. Gass

  Mr. James R. Gass, 84, of Slagle, died in Leesville, Friday, Oct. 1,
after a lengthy illness.

  Funeral services were held in the Warren Meadows Funeral Chapel,
Sunday, Oct. 3, with the Rev. Brent Fleming officiating. Interment was
in the Prewitt's Chapel Cemetery.

  Survivors include four sons, W. S. Gass of Hagewood, J. D. Gass,
Leesville, J. R. Gass, Lake Charles, and Clarence C. Gass of Shreveport;
four daughters, Mrs. Lydia G. Stanley, Mrs. Theodore Todoroff, and Mrs.
Don C. Smythe, all of Slagle, and Mrs. L. B. Achee of Van Nuys, Calif.;
several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

  Pallbearers were gregory L. Gass, Larry G. Gass, Mike Swine, William D.
Liles, Jack Ward, and W. H. Liles.
