Dr. William T. Crosby, assisted by Rev. Adrian Pater, officiated. Burial was at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Augie Bridges Gaddis was born May 4, 1897, at Pleasant Hill. She died December 10, 1982, after an extended illness in Guest House Nursing Home of Shreveport. She was the daughter of John M. and Velda Jacob Bridges of Pleasant Hill, the widow of Herman C. Gaddis, who died in World War I, and the mother of Herman C. Gaddis, Jr., who died in World War II. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Shreveport, and was a retired Louisiana public school teacher. She is survived by four brothers, John Bridges of Mansfield, R. L. Bridges of Biloxi, Miss., Lemuel L. Bridges of Pleasant Hill, Orel Bridges of Lafayette; three sisters, Mrs. Vernie Martin of Bastrop, Mrs. C. R. Anderson, and Mrs. Joseph W. Spahrer of Baton Rouge. The family requests that any memorials be made to the First Baptist Church of Mansfield, or the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Pleasant Hill.
