Officiating was the Rev. F. L. Divin, pastor of United Pentecostal Church. Burial was in Ebenezer Cemetery in Mansfield, under direction of Wellman's Funeral Home. Mrs. Gathright died Friday, Feb. 24, in Virginia Hall Nursing Home, after a short illness. A native of Groveton, Texas, she had lived in Mansfield most of her life. She was a housewife, and member of the United Pentecostal Church. Survivors include one son, David Gathright of Logansport; three daughters, Mrs. Lee Abshier of Winnie, Texas, Mrs. James Thornton, and Mrs. Ed Smart, both of Shreveport; four brothers, Milton Simmons of Mountain Home, Ark., Alton Simmons of Hannibal, Mo., Dalton Simmons of Noble, and Mack Simons of Nacogdoches, Texas; 16 grandchildren, and a number of great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Dan Simmons, D. A. Burgess, Roger Whitlock, Jerry Simmons, Donald Simmons, and Bobby Simmons.
