Gaul, who was critically burned Wednesday morning, were conducted at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, at 3:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 18, 1963, with Msgr. Robert C. Friend officiating. Mr. Gaul was born in Houston, Texas, but had lived in Zwolle from early boyhood. He was a member of the American Legion, and was a veteran of World War I, member of the Sabine Chamber of Commerce, City Councilman for nearly thirteen years, and was a well known Income Tax Consultant in this area. Survivors are one brother, Thomas D. Gaul; three sisters, Miss May, Miss Bessie, and Miss Kate Gaul. Interment was in St. Joseph's Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Max Brown, Clarence Bullard, Paul Ebarb, Doss Hough, J. O. Kimbrell Jr., Dick Leone, George Martinez, Hoyt Maxey, and Garrett Walsh. Honorary pallbearers were G. L. Martinez, E. C. Marshal, Quinton Brandon, Jack Napier, T. M. Phillips, Milton McFerrin, (Mrs.) Milton McFerrin, C. C. Nabours, Pat Wright, Judge J. S. Pickett, Sen. C. M. Poston, Wilson Martinez, Robert Remedies, L. Lefkovits, J. W. Salter, T. L. Keelen, J. Reuel Boone, F. P. McCormick.
