Gillis (Photo) Funeral services were held Monday, July 26, at 4 p.m., in the Warren Meadows Chapel, for Anthony P. (Tony) Gillis, 64, of Many. The Rev. Ray Spiller, pastor of the First Methodist Church of Many, officiated at the services. Burial was in the Many Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Mr. Gillis died Sunday, July 25, at 4:35 a.m., after an extended illness. Survivors include one son, Wiley Gillis of Natchitoches; two daughters, Mrs. Helen Gilbreath of California, and Miss Margaret Gillis of Ponca City, Okla.; four sisters, Mrs. Helen G. Davis of Many, Mrs. Effie Gremillion, Shreveport, Mrs. Margaret Lewis of Alexandria, and Mrs. Barbara Hoffpauir of Crowley; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers were Chip Auten, Church Auten, Wayne Bostain, Jim Everett, Lloyd Hightower, John Hoagland, Ira Joe Key, and Hardin Lewis. Gillis was a retired civil engineer with Vitro Corporation of Eglan Air Force Base in Ft. Walton, Fla.
