  Services for Mr. Fred Gallagher, 82, of Shreveport, were held at
10 a.m., Friday, Jan. 31, at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, where
he was a member. Father Charles Bernhardt, pastor of the church,
officiated.

  Entombment was at Forest Park Cemetery.

  Mr. Gallagher died at 12:37 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 29, 1986, at
Willis Knighton Medical Center, after a short illness. He was
born in Lake Charles, and was a lifelong resident of Shreveport.
Mr. Gallagher was a retired police officer, with the Shreveport
Police Department, and the City of Shreveport Traffic Engineering
Department.

  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Gladine Gallagher of
Shreveport; one daughter, Paula Oxley of Marthaville; and two
grandchildren.

  Pallbearers were Melvin Reeves, Worley Reeves, Bill Gately,
Bubba Walsh, Douglas Hill, and Neal Stringer.
