(Perk) Gewin, 85, of Pleasant Hill, died in Pleasant Hill on January 13, 1983, at 3:30 p.m., after an extended illness. Funeral services were held at the Progress Cumberland Presbyterian Church on Saturday, January 15, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Jerry Lawson, and the Rev. Dale Gentry officiating. Interment was in the Progress Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many. Masonic Rites were held at the graveside. His body was taken to the church Saturday morning, Jan. 15, to lie in state until service time. He is survived by six sons, Billy M. Gewin of Duncan, Ok., M. B. Gewin Jr. of Zicron, Israel, Joel D. Gewin of Liberty, Tex., Rhuel J. Gewin of Isaquaw, Washington, Clarence L. Gewin of Pleasant Hill, and Paul Gewin of Many; four daughters, Mrs. Jessie J. Wells of Pleasant Hill, Mrs. Leonard J. Migues of Houston, Tex., Mrs. Nellie F. Campbell of Liberty, Tex., and Mrs. Norbert R. Boschert of St. Charles, Missouri; 24 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. The pallbearers were his grandsons, and the Honorary Pallbearers were the Elders of the Church. Mr. Gewin was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Woodsmen Of The World, life long member of Progress Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and a retired carpenter.
