  G. C. Gewin - December 27, 1973

  G. C. (Gar) Gewin, 81, of Pleasant Hill, died in Converse on
Sunday, Dec. 23 at 5:15 a.m. following an extended illness.

  Gewin is survived by his widow, Mrs. Kate Gewin of Pleasant
Hill; two sons, Audrey V. Gewin of Norfolk, Va., and Newton
Corley Gewin of Coushatta; two daughters, Mrs. Eloise Hall and
Mrs. Juanita Dyess, both of Pleasant Hill; two brothers, William
H. Gewin of Mansfield, and M. B. Gewin of Pleasant Hill; nine
grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held in the Progress Church near Pleasant
Hill on Wednesday, Dec. 26 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. L. C. Kearns
officiating. Burial was in the Progress Cemetery under the
direction of Warren Meadows Funeral home.
