All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Chief Master Sergeant Louis Hugh Gewin, USAF Funeral services for CMS Louis Hugh Gewin, USAF, retired, 64, were held at 2 p.m., on Friday, October 13, at the Rose-Neath's Mansfield Chapel. Interment followed in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, with full military honors. Rev. Stephen Pyle, pastor of First Baptist Church of Pleasant Hill, assisted by Rev. Bennie Alford, director of Clara Springs Baptist Encampment, officiated the services. Mr. Gewin, who retired from the United States Air Force after 28 years of service, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 11, at 5:15 a.m., at the Barksdale Air Force Base Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Betty Gewin of Pleasant Hill; one daughter, Sandra Gewin Frankell of Pleasant Hill; two brothers, Thomas Boyd Gewin of Tyler, Texas, and William Henry Gewin Jr. of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; and four grandchildren, Tammi Frankell, Danny Frankell, Michael Frankell, and Gwen Frankell. Pallbearers were the Barksdale Air Force Base Honor Guard. Honorary pallbearers were Guffy Pattison Sr., Guffy Pattison Jr., Roy Bridges, Clarence Gewin, Paul Gewin, Hugh Harde, Coily Gewin, John Patrick, and Harold Dillard. The family requests that memorials by made to the American Cancer Society.
