Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, Aug. 21, at the Heights Baptist Church in Liberty. Masonic graveside services, under the auspices of Liberty Lodge #48 A.F.&A.M., were held immediately following, at Cooke Memorial Cemetery in Houston, Texas. Mr. Gewin was a native of Pleasant Hill. He lived in Liberty Texas for 38 years. He was a supervisor for Clanton Oil Well Service, and served in the U.S. Army. Survivors include his widow, Juanita Gewin of Liberty, Texas; four sisters, Rowayne Wells, and Gwendolyn Migues, both of Pleasant Hill, Nell Campbell of Liberty, Texas, and Peggy Boschert of St. Charles, Mo.; four brothers, M. B. Gewin Jr. of Zichron Yacob, Israel, Jack Gewin of Issaquah, Wash., Clarence Gewin of Pleasant Hill, and Paul Gewin of Many. Allison Funeral, Liberty, Texas
